About Us

Our practice offers patients the most updated dental treatment options available. We do this by explaining the pros and cons of each option so that the patient can make the best informed decision with regards to their specific treatment. We will never recommend a procedure that you do not need and we are happy to accommodate your dental emergency by working you into our schedule ASAP.

We proudly serve as the Official Team Dentists for the Tampa Bay Lightning NHL franchise, and help the Yankees organization during Baseball Season.

Our mission is to maintain our community in excellent dental health through education and preventive means, execute conservative treatment modalities to cure disease and restore function, satisfy any elective enhancements in order to achieve a beautiful and healthy smile, all the while doing so in the most efficient and caring environment possible.

Meet Our Doctors

Dr. Gil Rivera

Dr. Gil Rivera completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Connecticut and earned a full academic scholarship to the University Of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2001.

Dr. Gil Rivera completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology at the University of Connecticut and earned a full academic scholarship to the University Of Connecticut School Of Dental Medicine, where he received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 2001. He then attended a one year Advanced Education In General Dentistry Residency at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. In 2002, he joined the practice of Drs. Vince and Sam Caranante as an Associate, and became the owner in 2007. He is a member in good standing of the American Dental Association, West Coast Dental Association, and Hillsborough County Dental Association.

Dr. Rivera loves boating, fishing, skiing, traveling, and volunteering his skills. He is also an avid hockey fan. Since 2002, he has been involved with the bay area’s beloved NHL team, the Tampa Bay Lightning, as the official team dentist. A native of Puerto Rico, he is completely bilingual in English and Spanish.

Dr. Rivera constantly updates and refreshes his knowledge and skills through Continuing Education classes, which allows him to provide the most up-to-date care, and offer a wide variety of treatment options to patients.

Dr. Rivera customizes treatment to fit each patient’s unique dental needs and desires, He prides himself on practicing preventative dentistry and offers the most conservative and cost-effective options for his patients under a relaxed, family style environment.

Dr. Sam Caranante

Dr. Caranante graduated from the University of Florida in 1963, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He received his DDS degree in 1967 from Emory University School of Dentistry.

Dr. Caranante graduated from the University of Florida in 1963, where he completed his undergraduate studies. He received his DDS degree in 1967 from Emory University School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Caranante served 2 years as a dental officer in the US Navy. Dr. Caranante returned to Tampa in 1970 and practiced with his brother Vince Caranante until 2007. He and Dr. Rivera have been practicing dentistry since 2002. Dr. Caranante has completed many hours of continuing education courses, earning his Fellowship and Mastership Awards in the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Caranante and his wife Priscilla (Patsy) have 2 children and 3 grandchildren.

Payments

We realize that every person has particular and unique financial and budgetary considerations. For this reason we are pleased to offer the following payment options:

DENTAL INSURANCE

We are happy to file the necessary paperwork so that you may receive the maximum benefits from your dental insurance coverage. Because an insurance policy is ultimately an agreement between you and your insurance company, we ask that you be directly responsible for all charges. Again, rest assured that we will do everything possible to see that you receive the maximum benefits from your policy.

If you do not have insurance, or if your insurance does not cover a particular procedure, we accept cash, checks, credit cards, or Care Credit (see below).

Cash or Personal Checks
  • We offer a 5% courtesy for treatments over $1000.00 that is paid in full prior to completion of treatment.
  • You may pay half of the total at the time of treatment, and the balance in three equal installments over 90 days, interest free, provided you have a credit card on file.
Credit Cards

We accept VISA, MASTERCARD, DISCOVER, AMERICAN EXPRESS, as well as all DEBIT CARDS.

Care Credit – Financing / Payment Plan

For our patients without insurance, and for those who do not have enough insurance, an easy and affordable way to make payments on your dental work is to utilize CARE CREDIT. By arrangement with CARE CREDIT, we are able to offer our patients financing for up to 12 months (depending on the amount financed) with no interest. Applications and other details are available from the receptionist.
